Do I need to complete SafeSport Training?

RVS, RVPT, and RVSG are registered with the Winter Guard International (WGI) organization.
It is WGI's policy that all adult supervisors must complete the “SafeSport™ Trained” Abuse Prevention courses before working with participants.
WGI defines adult supervisors as “adults in a group’s managerial, instructional, design, creative, or volunteer team who spend considerable amounts of time with the group or have a short-term interaction with the group. Considerable is defined as a weekly in-person interaction with performers and short term is defined as two (2) total hours or more per season of in-person interaction.”
There is a small registration fee associated with the SafeSport Training. To request reimbursement of the fee, please complete the reimbursement request.

Do I need to have a background check completed?

Volunteer opportunities that require volunteers to work directly with students require adults to complete a background check.
An approved background check is valid for three calendar school years.
Volunteer applicants are required to pay the $10.25 online processing fee for the background check.
If the processing fee is a hardship for your family and you'd like to be reimbursed for this expense, please complete the reimbursement request.
